Jorge Carballo is from El Salvador. He has a Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Business Management from the Ave María University (Nicaragua). Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in finance from the European School of Economics (Italy) accredited by the University of Buckingham (England).
He has more than 6 years of professional experience in the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) of the United Nations, where he started as a financial assistant within the Controller and Financial Services division; later as a research analyst and evaluation analyst at the Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE).

In recent years, he has worked as an Evaluation Analyst conducting corporate level evaluations, country strategy and programme evaluations, project evaluations, validation repots, and thematic evaluations. Through these evaluations, he has covered key areas such as: rural development, rural poverty impact; monitoring and evaluation; policy engagement; knowledge management; gender equality and women empowerment; natural resource management; and adaptation to climate change. He has worked with countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
